Lion King 2 could be better than the original live-action. Following the latest news that the sequel is now being made, Disney has a golden chance to produce a sequence that stands out and is special compared with the first short film.
The movie amounted to more than $1 billion at the box office, both reviewers and viewers were somewhat lukewarm on the film. It was not acceptable in the minds of anyone, precisely because it was just a story from the original film that was re-telling with photorealism with a new mouthpiece.
While the first film did not resonate meaningfully with the viewers, its huge box office traffic led Disney directly to a follow-up directed by Barry Jenkins of Moonlight.
