André Leon Talley praised Anna Wintour after she started to fix Vogue’s problem related to diversity after their release of October’s cover story on Lizzo.
In last few months, Wintour confessed and admitted the issue to the intolerant behavior of the fashion bible.
Wintour was lashed by Talley in the memoir of May, “The Chiffon Trenches.”
But Talley, on Friday, in his Instagram post wrote that, “Proud to see very, very beautiful, stunningly elegant Lizzo on Vogue’s current cover.” He added, “Progress is advancing at full supersonic Concorde speed. Dame Anna Wintour made a promise and she kept her word. Her public apology was right on.”
He also added, “In the years I worked there, under her reign, this cover would have never been published, even if it were a trial.”
He further claimed that it can be killed by the advertising company side, a direct hint towards thought of putting-off the Vogue readers.
