Made in Abyss is a Japanese Manga Series published by Takeshobo and written by Akihito Tsukushi. It belongs to the genre of science fiction, adventure, fantasy, and dark comedy. An anime is an adaption by Kinema Citrus, released the first season on July 7 to September 29, 2017. The series was a huge hit in The US as well. The first season had 13 episodes. The sequel of the film was released in Japan on January 17, 2020, and it was scheduled to be released in the US on April 11, 2020.
However, it got delayed due to the global pandemic of coronavirus. The virus has led to massive production delays all around the world. The majority of the films and TV series have been rescheduled to future months. Made in Abyss is a story of an orphaned girl named Riko. She finally gets friendly to a humanoid robot Reg. She slopes with him into the titular named “Abyss” into the depth of earth with the hope of finder her mother.
Season 1 ended with a note, “to be continued” which gave the fans a perspective that soon there will be a Season 2. However, there is no update by the show makers on when the same can be expected. Makers of the show released a teaser for Season 2, but it did not have any idea on the plot of the series. Going by season 1, one can be assured that many new adventures will be there in season 2.
Regarding the cast of the movie, there is not much information available on the same. It’s difficult to predict the cast however we expect some characters to reprise their roles from season 1 along with some fresh faces. Characters from season 1 could be Riko voiced by Miyu Tomita in Japanese and Brittany Lauda in English along with Rig voiced by Mariya Ise in Japanese and Luci Christian in English.
