Magic Mike is back, and we’ve never wanted to hear Ginuwine’s gorgeous sweet track from “Pony” more than today. On November 29, Deadline revealed the existence of a third film, which would have been created by Warner Bros. and premiere exclusive on HBO Max.
Who would be casting for the third movie?
On November 29, Channing Tatum, who is presently dating Zo Kravitz, stated on social media that he will be reprising his role as Mike Lane.
It’s unclear whether Matthew McConaughey (Dallas), Joe Manganiello (Big D*ck Richie), and Matt Bomer (Ken) will return for the picture, but we definitely hope so. Bomer used multiple emoticons in his response to Tatum’s Instagram post about the project, so whether that’s an indication he’ll return is up to you to decide.
Fans also will recall that Amber Heard (Zoe) was Lane’s love interest in Magic Mike XXL, but the sequel didn’t establish whether they were an item at the conclusion of the film, so it’s anyone’s guess whether she’ll return for the third picture.
The second picture also starred Jada Pinkett Smith, Donald Glover, Andie MacDowell, and Elizabeth Banks, so we’re anticipating a big reunion the third time around. Tatum made a joke with his partner’s father, Lenny Kravitz, about the musician’s Magic Mike-like abs in September.

What to expect from the plotline?
The first film in the Magic Mike franchise, released in 2012, told the tale of Mike Lane, an experienced stripper who works in an all-male dancing troupe and teaches a young youngster (Alex Pettyfer, sometimes known as ‘The Kid’) how to make money while having fun. Lane abandons stripping at the end of the film to pursue a very PG profession in carpentry.
Three years after the first film’s success, Tatum reunited to his co-stars for Magic Mike XXL in 2015, which explored Lane’s life after he’d hung up his Velcro-stripped trousers with his dance group at the pinnacle of their success, and his decision to reunite with his fellow dancers for one more shindig in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
When will Magic Mike 3 release?
Given that Tatum has just recently revealed the script, the picture is most likely in pre-production, so we won’t know about a release date for quite some time.
