Mark Wahlberg is well known among his peers from a very young age. His career started as a teen heartthrob singer in the Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch group and soon he found his niche by moving between action flicks and comedies which lead him to becoming one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood. ‘Age of Extinction’ is a monster hit across the globe, raking more than $1 billion at the box office. This movie is currently ranked among the top 50 highest-grossing films of all time, only the ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ made more money than the extinction movie of the franchise. The story follows Wahlberg’s character Cade Yeager who is an inventor and a single dad who makes a shocking discovery about what the government is doing with the Autobots. Although his part was crucial, we all know the audience do not go to the theatres to see the human characters. “Age of Extinction” is set five years after the events of “Dark of the Moon,” and it kickstarted a new era in the “Transformers” universe.

Mark Wahlberg is definitely not the highlight of the movie but we can’t deny the fact that this movie is his highest grossing film. While “Ted” took home an impressive $556 million worldwide, and “Daddy’s Home” earned a respectable $241 million, the “Transformers: Age of Extinction” movie still remains the reason for Wahlberg’s worldwide success and his landing into the category of world’s most bankable actors.
