The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a home to series of American Superhero movies produced by Marvel Studios. These are based on the characters that appear in Marvel comics. The MCU is a Shared universe in which all the movies are based. 

The studio started making films in 2007 and since then till now they have released a total of 23 films. We learnt that 14 movies are in the various stages of production right now. Kevin Fiege is the producer for all the Movies in the Marvel Comics Universe and he also serves as the President of the Studio. The studio is considered to be one of the highest grossing franchises having grossed over $22.5 billion at their global box office collections. This includes Avengers: Endgame which is till date the highest grossing movie released in 2019. 

Marvel Studios releases their films in phases and each phase comes with character from the Marvel Comics and the release schedule of each movie. Phase 1 started in year 2008 and continued till 2012 with 6 movies released. It included, the Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel’s The Avengers.

Phase 2 saw releases of Iron Man 3 in 2013 followed by Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant Man, which was the last movie released in 2015.

Similarly Phase 3 kicked off with Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and had 10 more releases till 2019. The calendar had Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Spider-man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: End Game and Spider-man: Far From Home. 

Now MCU has released its calendar for the Phase 4 which will be a combination of movies and multiple series which will be streaming on Disney+ platform. Phase 4 promises 6 movies starting with black Widow which is set for its release on November 6th, 2020. 

The Movie was originally set for a May 2020 release but due to covid 19 the release was delayed. The entire release schedule was re done by the studio for all of its releases. Next in queue is The Eternals (2021), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) , Untitled Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel (2021), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. 

The Studio will also be releasing Tele Series on its Disney+ streaming platform starting with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (August 2020), WandaVision (December 2020), Loki (Early 2021)  and What If…?Season 1(mid 2021). The studio is yet to announce the release dates for What If…? Season 2, Hawkey, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight  and She-Hulk; all set to be the part of phase 4. 

Well, all we can say is that the Studio has been delivering some spectacular movies in the past and with the whole set of movies and series, future seems to be full of entertainment. Set your calendars now.
