After several abusive tweets reappeared in 2018, Gunn was fired from Marvel. He had just begun production on the third instalment of “Guardians of the Galaxy” when he was sacked. Unfortunately, Warner Brothers were already talking with him about directing “The Suicide Squad,” so “Guardians” fans have had to wait longer than they had anticipated for a sequel.
