In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a possible LEGO set leak for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings gave fans their first look at the outfit Simu Liu would wear.
The outside box for the Shang-Chi LEGO set says it’s for a “fight at the ancient village,” though part of it is obscured. Shang-Chi, played by Simu Liu, is portrayed on the packaging wearing a red sleeveless top with black lines crisscrossing the top. There is a huge red-and-white dragon in the middle of the box that is shooting blue flames out of its mouth. Shang-Chi is fighting Wenwu, who may be another name for The Mandarin, down below. Other figures shown with Shang-Chi and Wenwu include Xialing, Death Dealer and Death Dealer.
There are some parallels between the MCU costume that Shang-Chi wears and the suits he wears in the comics. The majority of the comic outfits of Shang-Chi have red as its primary colour, which is seen on the top. It’s hard to tell right now whether Shang-Chi is going to have red matching pants or if they’re black. For a new limited series by writer Gene Luen Yang and artists Dike Ruan and Philip Tan, Marvel recently revamped Shang-superhero Chi’s costume. The publisher also revealed a new Shang-Chi volume by Gene Luen Yang and Dike Ruan, which will pit Shang-Chi against Marvel Universe heroes.
Before officially feasting their eyes on his MCU outfit, fans will have to wait until the first trailer for Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings is released. The trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is more than worth the wait, Simu Liu has promised.
“It’s going to be so fun when it comes out, just not today, just not today, “Liu expressed himself on Twitter. He also attached himself to a frustrated GIF to let fans know that he’s just as disappointed as they are that there’s no footage yet to premiere.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Daniel Callaham, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Jiang Nan, Meng’er Zhang. Ronny Cheng, Fala Chen and Jiang Len. The film arrives in theaters July 9.
