Directed by Niki Caro, Mulan is one of the most awaited films from Disney. The trailer of the movie was released back in February 2020 and it was scheduled to be released on 27th March 2020. However, it is now rescheduled due to the pandemic situation which leads to the closing of all theatres.
The story of Mulan is based on a Chinese Folklore “Ballad of Mulan” which tells that how a warrior woman who disguises herself as a male warrior and takes place in the military to protect her country after poor health of her father. Starring Liu Yifei as the lead role, it is the first Disney movie to be rated PG-13 by MPAA.
Release Date of Mulan
The rescheduled date for the release of Mulan was 24th July 2020. It is now heard that it may get released to hit the big screen on 21st August 2020. Also, Disney can resolve to release a digital print of the movie that can be released on Disney Plus.
There was a controversy of boycotting Mulan when Liu Yifei shared an image of a newspaper saying “I support Hong Kong Police and you can beat me now. What a shame for Hong Kong”. It made people believed that the star has started a call to boycott Mulan.
