Natalie Imbruglia, former Star of Neighbour, was surprised to learn more about son Ned Willis on TV.
Beth Brennan was portrayed by the singer in the 1992-1994 Soap of Ramsay Street. The character eventually had a son named Ned by Brad Willis, who finally moved to Erinsborough in 2016 and was played by Ben Hall.
When Behnaz Akhgar was interviewed yesterday (22 June) by BBC Radio Wales, Natalie was asked to see whether she would watch the show over and over and watch her son.
“I got a son? “What?” she answered, shock thoroughly. “Oh, my divine. I didn’t know that. Oh my god. That’s gorgeous.
“It’s hysterical, oh my goodness. Do you know, I get terrified when I see it — it’s like others are in my house. In a long time, I haven’t been watching it, but thank you for saying that I’ve got a son on telly.”
Natalie also told her that her time on the neighbours is “very great memories,” noting that she wouldn’t be anywhere without Australian soap.
“That was a very fantastic beginning into this field,” she explained. “I have a lot of great friendship from then on.
“I have learned a lot, and this is why I have come to the UK because I was successful in this show and realised that I wanted to live and be here.”
Ned’s recent narrative at UK speed is in problems with his relationship with Yashvi Rebecchi as she finds his emotional connection to the new Sheila Canning.
Neighbours air at Channel 5 (UK) daily, 1.45 and 5.30 pm, and at 6.30 pm, at 10 Peach weekdays (Australia).
