She’s All That has had a tumultuous history and for good purpose. The ’90s rom-com is full of negative tropes and stereotypes, and those trends are impossible to avoid, no matter how convincing its star Rachael Leigh Cook is.
This is why the prospect of a modern remake with modern sensibilities is both exciting and potentially dangerous. He’s All That, the latest edition, is a gender-swapped reboot.
However, as we all know, gender-swapping does not always equal a good movie. So, with this in mind, what do we know about the remake so far?
The plot of He’s All That: What is the storyline of He’s All That?
It’s essentially the same as She’s All That, except the gender roles are reversed. The plot follows Padget, an influencer who accepts a challenge to turn Cameron, the school’s biggest loser, into prom king.
There will almost certainly be shenanigans, but if He’s All That wants to stop the bad messaging of She’s All That (must blend in! ), there will almost certainly be a huge epiphany in which everybody realizes they’re perfect inside and out.
He’s All That star cast: Who is in the cast of He’s All That?
Fans of the original would be delighted to hear that two of the film’s main characters have returned. They will, however, play entirely new characters in He’s All That, since it is a reboot rather than a long-awaited sequel.
Anna Sawyer, the mother of the new lead, Addison Rae, is played by Rachael Leigh Cook. Padget Sawyer, the aforementioned influencer charged with giving Cameron a makeover, is played by Rae, a TikTok star in her first film role. Rae, according to Deadline, is a major reason for the remake’s success.
Matthew Lillard, who co-starred in She’s All That, is also in He’s All That, though his role is unknown. Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai) plays Cameron Kweller. Madison Pettis (American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules), Peyton Meyer (Girl Meets World), Isabella Crovetti (Colony), Annie Jacob, and Myra Molloy are among the cast members.
Mark Waters (of Mean Girls and Freaky Friday fame) will direct, with R Lee Fleming Jr, the original writer of She’s All That, penning the screenplay.
He’s All That premiere date: When will He’s All That be available on Netflix?
Yes, you read that correctly: the film will be released on Netflix, which is thrilling news for everyone. We don’t know when He’s All That would be eligible to watch, unfortunately.
Netflix announced the news on Twitter with the following message: “What exactly is this, a dork outreach program? The gender-flipped reimagining of the 1999 teen classic HE’S ALL THAT is coming to Netflix!”
“What’s better? The film will be available on Netflix worldwide later this year “It was also added. That’s all we’ve got to go on!
When will the trailer for He’s All That be available online?
We don’t know. Knowing Netflix and keeping an eye on its Twitter as well as the social media pages of the movie’s stars (TikTok, everyone!) is a good way to stay up to date. Or, you know, here, because we’ll be taking care of it.
Later this year, He’s All That will be streaming on Netflix.
