Dune is considered to be one of the most important and influential science fiction franchises of this genre. It first emerged as a novel in 1965 by Frank Herbert and later the Dune universe was expanded to many volumes of books, short stories, comics, games, a TV miniseries, and a 1984 movie adaptation. Now after almost more than three decades later, the new ‘Dune’ film is coming this September and it seems to be a justifiable do-over.

Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival. But before this, a premiere event for Villeneuve’s “Dune,” titled “An Exclusive Look at Dune,” will be screening at IMAX theatres in major cities all around the globe. The exclusive look will premiere the new trailer with some of the selected scenes from the movie serving as an attraction. The advanced screening suggests that Warner Bros. Pictures has faith in the film being a cinematic event befitting of its lauded source material.

As the hype is building up among the viewers with the IMAX theatres premiere and the Film Festival debut, the film’s social media handles released a series of posters each featuring one of the film’s stars in a close-up. The response to these posters is utterly positive especially the young actors of the movie have grabbed a huge amount of attention. The social media handles such as twitter and Instagram are flooded with comments and the fans are comparing the classic movie with this new venture.

This series of posters focus on individual actors and characters from Dune, including Timothée Chalamet (Paul), Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica), Oscar Isaac (Duke Leto), Jason Momoa (Duncan Idaho), James Brolin (Gurney), Zendaya (Chani), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), and Stellan Skarsgård (The Baron). Noticeably absent from these character posters is Dave Bautista, who plays Glossu ‘Beast’ Rabban. Fans on twitter are really excited about the new released posters of “Dune” include sci-fi artist Pascal Blanché and global community lead for video game developer CD Projekt Red Marcin Momot, who replied to the “Dune” Twitter account with an approving gif of Stanley from “The Office,” among others. Apart from this the new posters highlight each of the characters and the fans have taken their favorite and featured them. For example, @dayapeters shared the poster featuring Zendaya’s character with the caption “Zendaya is coming to serve as Chani Kynes in dune.” Another user @adhamtingz shared the posters featuring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, calling them “such a perfect duo.”

Dune will be released theatrically and on HBO Max in the US on October 22. If you can’t wait until October, then make sure to head to your nearest IMAX screen to catch the new footage on July 21 and 22. Tickets are available now at dunemovie.com
