“Nine Perfect Strangers,” a new Hulu series, is about the unique Tranquilium House, a fictional boutique rehabilitation centre in Northern California. It’s based on Liane Moriarty’s 2018 novel of the same name, and it’s also the most recent collaboration between Nicole Kidman and writer David E. Kelley. Fans are naturally hoping for an encore after the Season 1 finale aired on Hulu on September 22, 2021.
Masha’s unconventional techniques enabled all eight of her patients find breakthroughs with their difficulties at the end of Season 1. Given that, Season 2 will almost certainly look very different — if it ever occurs at all. Here’s what we know thus far about Season 2 of “Nine Perfect Strangers.”
When will Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 release?
Hulu has yet to declare whether or not it will renew “Nine Perfect Strangers,” so a release date is still a long way off. At this moment, all we can do is make informed guesses based on the first season’s production timetable — but, because Season 1’s filming was hampered by the COVID-19 epidemic (as is the case with most TV series these days), the timeframe for Season 2 would most likely look quite different.
Who will be casting for Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2?
There’s no assurance that “Nine Perfect Strangers” will return for a second season. And, because Season 1 is a complete adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s work, the second season would not be based on previously published source material. So, at this time, no one knows what Season 2 will look like or who will appear in it.
While it’s conceivable that Season 2 may feature the same nine patients who stayed at Tranquilium House in Season 1, it’s more probable that it will have a completely new group of characters – see below. Otherwise, Nicole Kidman, who portrays the primary character Masha, and Alyla Brown, who plays Masha’s deceased daughter Tatiana, are the only two cast members who are expected to return.
Season 2 would most likely not have happened without the presence of co-creator David E. Kelley and director Jonathan Levine behind the camera. Beyond that, speculating on who could be involved is premature.
What’s the expected story for Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2?
To begin, “Nine Perfect Strangers” was initially intended to be a Hulu limited series. It is based on Australian novelist Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name. That doesn’t rule out a second season — Nicole Kidman and David E. Kelley’s last collaboration, “Big Little Lies,” was similarly scheduled as a one-off (and was based on Moriarty’s novel), but ended up receiving a second season from HBO. However, if “Nine Perfect Strangers” were to return, there would be no source material to draw upon.
Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers may introduce a completely new collection of strangers with new concerns. But it remains to be revealed who those strangers are and what their issues are.
