Fans are eagerly waiting for the upcoming Disney Plus TV series – Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi which has been under development for a while now. The series will be based on the fan-favorite Jedi. We have been informed regarding its making since 2019 but there haven’t been more updates related to the project lately. However, here’s everything we know so far about Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The filming began long back but the process had to shut down and later, slow down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, things look pretty good for the show now as it has been confirmed that the production would soon begin in April 2021.
Beyond the vague window of 2022, there hasn’t been any definite release date out. In addition to that, we also couldn’t expect a trailer any time soon. Things are likely to drop by sometime in early 2022. The series is likely to miss the festivities this year but seeing it debut on Disney Plus’s platform will be an outstanding feeling for fans. Especially, if it hits the streaming service on May 4, 2022.
Moreover, fans are also concerned regarding the number of episodes that would be incorporated into the upcoming series. So far, we have information that six one-hour episodes would be comprising the series, according to Ewan McGregor’s interview with Men’s Journal in October 2019. This also matches with the other Disney Plus shows which are believed to have six parts as well such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Star Wars’ official Twitter handle recently released the star-studded cast for their upcoming project – Obi-Wan Kenobi. We knew that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Chritensen were long been confirmed to return to the series but seeing the picture, it’s certain that there’ll be more talented actors rounding out the impressive cast.
