The plot revolves around a high school romance. Oru Adaar Love gained national attention after a viral clip from the song “Manikya Malaraya Poovi” went viral. It forced the producers to make script changes, which caused the development to be delayed. On February 14, 2019, the film was announced. It was dubbed and released with the same title in Tamil, Kirik Love Story in Kannada, and Lover’s Day in Telugu.
Plot
The plot follows a group of high school students from their first meeting in 11th grade to their graduation in 12th grade. With the assistance of Gadha and his other colleagues, Roshan woos Priya. Roshan and his friends get drunk one night, and one of Roshan’s friends sends a bad video from Roshan’s phone to the school’s WhatsApp community by mistake. Roshan and Priya become estranged as a result of this. To make Priya jealous, Roshan and Gadha claim to be in love, but they end up having feelings for each other. Priya approaches Roshan and tells him that she has forgiven him and that they should resume their relationship. Roshan, on the other hand, is unable to forget Gadha, as Priya refers to him. Heartbroken, she tells Roshan that Gadha is the only one who can be the best wife for him, and the two split up. Roshan agrees to propose to Gadha on the summit of the mountain on his graduation day. Just as Roshan is about to propose to Gadha, they are ambushed by a gang of goons whom Roshan and Gadha had previously antagonized during an Eve teasing incident. As Gadha and Roshan were about to be raped and killed, their friends intervened and rescued them. They ride away happily at the end of the film.

Production
On January 15, 2018, filming began.
Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy, a Malayalam film producer, was so pleased with Omar Lulu’s Happy Wedding that he decided to fund his third movie, Oru Adaar Love. The main cast was chosen by an audition process. As with his previous films, Ousepachan Vaalakuzhy claimed that he enjoys supporting newcomers. After Priya Prakash Varrier’s wink in the song “Manikya Malaraya Poovi” went viral, the producers changed the script to give her more screen time, putting Noorin Shereef, who had been cast in the lead role, in the background.

As part of the promotions, Vineeth Sreenivasan’s song “Manikya Malaraya Poovi,” a revamped modern version of a Mappila song, was uploaded to YouTube on February 9, 2018. It quickly became a viral video, with over one million views and 50,000 likes in just 20 hours. P. M. A. Jabbar wrote the original version of “Manikya Malaraya Poovi” in 1978, with Thalassery K. Refeeque composing the music.
