Seeing how we’ll be spending the rest of the foreseeable future in front of our screens watching Netflix and chilling (in the literal sense), the network’s latest offering to let us live out our non-existent summer vicariously is through Outer Banks

After announcing the renewal of the second season, it appears the crew is all geared up to begin filming of the upcoming season.

In a recent casting call from official casting director Taylor Woodell, Outer Banks Season 2 is looking for junior artists to play the role of high school students.

The casting that will be held on September 9 and 10 of 2020 in Charleston is looking for young adults or early college students between the age of 18 to 26. There is also a need for cars and surfboards on the day of filming.

And as it appears, the crew is taking all care and precaution in their effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. The filming crew has encouraged those who are booked to play the role of extras to get tested for COVID-19.

Applicants who have been socially isolating together will be considered a priority throughout the season. The applicants will also receive an addition $20 from the production budget for the COVID-19 test.

The pay rate would be $80 for 8 hours and time and a half for every hour that exceeds the eighth which is normally common for filming to go up till 12 hours.

If you think you have the acting chops, head over to twcastandrecruit.com or follow the Facebook page TW Cast and Recruit and you’ll find everything you need to be an extra for Outer Banks Season 2.

Release:

Seeing how the Outer Banks premiered on April 15, 2020, for Netflix to have already confirmed the renewal of the series, it says a lot about the show. Given the high volume in viewership, it certainly helped Netflix to come to a decision.

Earlier, even before the announcement creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke disclosed that they were already writing the second season. Jonas Pate revealed that even before the first season hit the streaming site, they were given the green light to write the next season.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no doubt that the production and filming of the second season will be delayed. However, if things play out well and production begins under the safety guidelines and precautions, we can expect a new season in 2021.
