Fans of Paddington 2 will be upset to learn that the film has officially lost the title of “greatest movie ever” (according to Rotten Tomatoes).
Paddington 2 No Longer In List Of Rotten Tomatoes Best Film
As you may recall, one bad review may knock you out of the top spot, and Paddington 2 has received a 99 percent overall rating thanks to the review from Film Authority and critic Eddie Harrison (via The Hollywood Reporter).
While Paddington’s marmalade-loving heart will be broken, Buzz and Woody will be overjoyed that their Pixar film Toy Story 2 has officially been voted the best film of all time.
Paddington 2 dethroned Orson Welles’ 1941 classic Citizen Kane, which had lost its 100 percent rating after a decade owing to a recently discovered bad review from 1941.
Moviegoers were obliged to choose a new winner, and the 2018 film Paddington, starring the Peruvian bear Paddington, was declared the finest film of the year; at the time, it had the most reviews of any title with a perfect score.
“It’s fantastic to be on any list, including Citizen Kane, but it’s obviously such an unusual list which runs through Citizen Kane to Paddington 2, so I’ll not be taking things much seriously,” said by the director of Paddington 2, Paul King.
“I’m not going to let it get to my head, and I’m going to start building my Xanadu right away. But, just in case, I’ve been working on a model.”
Toy Story 2 is deserving of its new position because it is packed with animated toy-talking drama. When Woody is kidnapped by a sleazy toy collector, Buzz and his friends go on the hunt to find him. Meanwhile, Woody meets a new group of toy friends and is enticed by the offer of being shipped to a museum.
On Disney+, all of the Toy Story films are available to stream at any time.
