Queen Sono has premiered on Feb 28th, 2020 on Netflix. The web television series is created, executive produced, partly written and directed by Kagiso Lediga under the genre of Crime Drama, Action and Thriller. It is a first-ever African original series on Netflix. The series was renewed for season 2 by Netflix after getting huge applauds over 6 episode season 1. Rotten tomatoes have reported 91% approval rating for season 1.

The website’s critical consensus reads, “Queen Sono’s twisty, taut thrills are matched with epic action sequences and soapy delights, making Netflix’s first South African series a smashing good time.”

The story of Queen Sono is around a secret South African undercover agent, who is under personal crisis while dealing with the criminal world around. She is an adult orphan who starts working for a spy agency to find her ultimate purpose of life while safeguarding the entire African continent.

Her mother was a political activist who got assassinated by someone. Now she has to prove her loyalty to the agency while working on her front to capture the assassin by all means. To make Queen Sono’s job more challenging, she must also get to the bottom of the conspiracy into play by the terrorist organisation, which is threatening the existence of the African continent. The main cast seems to remain the same with some alterations as per upcoming plots in season 2:
