The first season of the series was released on Netflix in February 2020 and it is created by Kagiso Lediga. Kagiso Lediga, along with Karabo Lediga and Camilo Saloojee, joining hands with Christopher Steenkamp and Muzi Dlamini has written the story. THE STORYLINE:
The first season with six episodes was highly praised for the geopolitical fresh look and how the historical references were chipped in. The extraordinary performance by the contemporary black heroine gave the first installment of the series a sure shot success. The story of the first season is all about a secret agent who solves the criminal operations while handling the crises in her personal life.
The story involves how a criminal attack in a soccer game is thwarted by the protagonist and how she locates the suspect using her intelligence from the TV room and also has the original political conflict showcased ass the rebel leader personally murders the queen’s grandmother which leads to an expectation of a huge political mess in the city of Johannesburg which could wave all over South Africa.
The first season has a lot of loose threads which convinces us that the creators have planned for more installments in this series.
In the second season it is anticipated that Ekaterina could have more power due to the declaration of a state of emergency and that the rebels will have more of funding from superior sources and the narrative may also play like Sandhu betrays Ekaterina and the queen unravels the mysteries of the death and how Sid reveals his love for queen’s mother Safiya. There also could be lots of other mysteries solved in the second series of the season.
