Best known for the classics like Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino is the director who has been in the film industry for three decades now. He has recently appeared on the talk show named Real Time with Bill Maher to promote his new novel. This novel is based on his own film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The host of the chat show questioned his desire to retire and Quentin, the man himself revealed that his tenth movie will be the last movie of his film-making career.

The host Maher said, “You’re too young to quit and you’re at the top of your game,” to which the filmmaker replied, “That’s why I want to quit! Because I know film history and from here on in, directors do not get better. I don’t have a reason that I would want to say out loud that’s going to win any argument in the court of public opinion or Supreme Court or anything like that.”

He then added, “At the same time, working for 30 years doing as many movies as I’ve done is not as many as other people, but that’s a long career. That’s a really long career. And I’ve given it everything I have.”

With this being said it can be concluded that he doesn’t want to exceed his resume with more than 10 films. He is ready to fill it up and close the sheet with his 10th movie named Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. In this very interview, Tarantino also revealed his initial desire to make a reboot of his first debut film, Reservoir Dogs but decided against it as why remake something when it is not broken? He added, “That’s kind of a ‘capture time in a moment’ kind of thing,” Tarantino shared while adding, “I won’t do it, internet. But I considered it.”

He later compared his career to Don Siegal to aid his argument. He said, “Don Siegel, if he had quit his career in 1979, when he did Escape from Alcatraz, what a final film! What a mic drop. But he dribbles away with two more other ones,” he said referring to Don’s poorly-received films Jinxed and Rough Cut.

It was also reported that Quentin Tarantino was attached to a Star Trek movie but it never got on ground. If it would have been then, this would be his 10th feature.
