A recap of Episode 9 of Raised by the wolves:
At this point of the story all the characters of the series are scattered around the planet and this episode follows the advancement in each of their storylines.
At first we see Mother struggling to keep up with her pregnancy and everyone around her is sceptical of how good of a mother she will be considering the fact that she can’t emotionally attach with her foetus. She still refers to it in vaguely clinical terms which does not assure others.
As Mother can not provide the child with nutrition herself, Otho’s blood is being slowly transfused into the foetus.
When the meaning of “Sol Invictus” is deciphered Mother taps into its power and transports herself into a vision of what looks like an ancient civilisation. When she wakes up from her vision, she realises that the situation couldn’t be any worse. Othos has reversed the direction of the transfusion of nutrients with the fetus and now has acquired some immortal properties from Mother herself.
But somehow Tempest tampers with Otho’s helmet and programs it to squash his skull. But the thing is this scene was made to seem much funnier in the show despite its gore. That’s why the show is the best splatstick comedy ever.
On a much more less gore note, Sue and Mother bond over having a child and we realise that Mother may not be as bad of a mother as we thought!
In addition to the improvement in the story the children even manage to reprogram Father and restore his old memories.
But Marcus is having a much harder time. He has lost his people and prays for the soul of the souls he has killed which is a thing a true Mithraic would never do. This makes Lieutenant Lucious question Marcus’ history and pushes him to duel Marcus.
At this point the series has too much mystery that it looks like anything could happen. Paul is hearing voices and things are not getting any simpler.
How excited are you for the next and episode of Raised by the Wolves?
