A murderous story
The gripping mystery thriller can be seen nationwide in German cinemas from October 22, 2020, and fascinates with the uncanny, irresistible attraction of a crime of passion: the murderously intricate plot full of shocking twists and turns captivates the audience until the last minute. It impresses with its seductively glamorous furnishings, the stylish look, and the epic cinema pictures in front of the dreamy ambiance of Egypt.
Great star cast
Again, director and actor Kenneth Branagh slip into the role of the eccentric detective with the remarkably sharp grey matter and his equally remarkable mustache.
For his second interpretation of Agatha Christie after the hit thriller “Murder on the Orient Express”, director Branagh also leads a phenomenal cast: Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Emma Mackey, Letitia Wright, Annette Bening, Tom Bateman, Rose Leslie, Russell Brand, Jennifer Saunders, and Dawn French play the leading roles in this star-studded and pointed social thriller.
First adaptation in 1978
“Death on the Nile” was filmed in 1978 by John Guillermin. It was the first film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Agatha Christie from 1937. Peter Ustinov played the famous detective at the time. An armada of other world stars and film legends followed in the lead roles: David Niven, Bette Davis, Maggie Smith, Angela Lansbury, Jane Birkin, and Mia Darrow were part of the cast.
In 2004 the novel was filmed again for the ninth season of the British television series “Agatha Christie’s Poirot”.
