For most of the movies, CGI has created the suit for Iron Man which has helped him in the MCU’s long run. But troubles were there too. At the beginning of the series, Iron Man’s director Jon Favreau along with the MCU production decided to use the suit practically.
When Downey was asked how it was feeling, he answered that the LED lights in the suit made it difficult for him to see anything.
In a discussion with David Letterman at the show ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’, he narrated the whole story. He said during an action scene, he was in the full shoot and helmet went on. The scene was of landing on the roof, he was asked to walk forward whenever the director would say action, He barely able to see anything as he has worn the helmet with LED lights which made him blind.
Downey considered this story the scariest one. And now he can sense the humor of the whole story. Someone’s pray worked for him as he was no more a part of that practical implementation again. He added that after the Iron Man, his approaches toward the suit got changed till the Avengers Endgame filmed last year.
Every success comes with lots of pain so as with the role of Iron Man. Downey has put a lot of effort into his role both ways physically and mentally. During a shoot of a stunt in Iron Man Three, the mighty hero hurt his ankle. But keeping the pain aside, he kept on moving and doesn’t make the audience feel any kind of regret.
