Robin Givens recently discovered that her former spouse, Mike Tyson, is having a biopic made on him. The short marital relationship of the former couple had Givens claim that she was subjected to domestic abuse. Given has asserted that she does not want their marriage to be highlighted in the movie.
Givens also expressed her feelings of shock in a recent interview, “I felt this drop in the pit of my stomach and was like, ‘Oh no, here we go again’. I felt like the world was crumbling again”. Tyson and Givens stayed together in a legal marital bond for eight months before they separated from each other.
Tyson admitted to the domestic abuse claims first in 2009 in the Oprah Winfrey show claiming, “I have socked her before, and she socked me before as well. It was just that kind of relationship”. On the other hand, Givens had shared horrific details of her former marital relationship by claiming, “I remember my ex-husband calling up and saying, ‘I’ve decided I’m not going to kill you.
I’m going to make your life so miserable, you’re going to slit your own throat and die’”. In late September, the legal attorneys representing Robin Givens sent a “ceast-and-desist” which commanded Mike Tyson from “refraining to portray Givens in the particular biopic” of the latter.
