An American romantic drama named Sweet Magnolias is a web series on Netflix. Based on the Sweet Magnolias novels by Sherry Woods, it is developed by Sheryl J. Anderson starring Joanna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott and Heather Headley which was first released on May 19, 2020 with ten episodes in first season. There were eleven books written by the writer out of which first season was based on three books.
It is a story of three South Carolina Women who are the best of friends since childhood. Teenagers usually go through a romantic life dealing with happiness, pain and complexities of it. How they help and stand by each other has been beautifully shown on screen handling romance, career and family.
Within few weeks of it being aired the show reached the heights of popularity charts. This definitely makes way for a season two as fans would want to see more of the story and what writers have to say. As there are still eight more books left to be covered this makes it all the more logical that there will be a season two.
But all there are assumptions as Netflix has not confirmed anything from their side. A logical reason might be the pandemic situation because of which they d not want to promise anything new as this will surely be delayed. Also looking at the trends which Netflix follows there will be a season two if season one does exceptionally well. The series has not yet renewed so talking about its release date looks weird. However if there is a second season signed and there will be a release date we cannot expect it before late 2021 or early 2022.
We saw an entertaining cast in season one and optimistically thinking if there is a season two we might get to see JoAnna Garcia Swisher as Maddie Townsend, Heather Headley as Helen Decatur, Brooke Elliott as Dana Sue Sullivan, Logan Allen as Kyle Townsend, Anneliese Judge as Annie Sullivan, Carson Rowland as Tyler “Ty” Townsend, Justin Bruening as Cal Maddox, Chris Klein as Bill Townsend and Jamie Lynn Spears as Noreen Fitzgibbons.
We will return with updates and exciting news. Till then stay safe.
