Following the two Golden Globe wins for Borat: The Next Movie, Sacha Baron Cohen has set a new record.
On Sunday evening (February 28), the actor and his satirical sequel were among the winners at the simulated 2021 Golden Globes, with Borat Subsequent Movie Film winning Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Cohen winning Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Cohen became the first person to receive the award twice for the same character, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Profit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, in 2007. That’s awesome!
Cohen took fun at former US President Donald Trump and the “all-white Hollywood International Press” during his acceptance speech. He also hinted that he was nearly “shot twice” while filming the video, thanking an unidentified bodyguard for saving him.
Following Cohen’s previous admission that he just brought Borat back “because of Trump,” the remarks were made.
