Schitt-mas came in early!
Rejoice for God hath listened to our prayers. For the uninitiated, Schitt’s Creek is a Canadian sitcom that has joined the big leagued funny sitcom shows to exist. Created by Eugene Levy and his son, Dan Levy, Schitt’s Creek had it’s slow beginnings when it aired on CBC but was an increase in popularity as soon as it migrated to Netflix.
Also known as the “Netflix bump”, the web series went on to be nominated for multiple Primetime Emmy Awards each year and set a record for having the most Emmy wins by a comedy series in a single season including those such as Outstanding Comedy Series, Directing, Writing, Lead, Supporting Actor and Actress.
With Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Dan Levy and Annie Murphy winning their #Emmys tonight, that means our little Canadian show is the first comedy OR drama to ~ever~ sweep all four acting categories, and that is absolutely wild 🇨🇦 pic.twitter.com/fEUnaLoDBr

Season 6 and Making-of Documentary:
The idea of the web series came to Daniel Levy when he was watching reality television. During an interview, he revealed that he wondered if the Kardashians would still be the Kardashians if they didn’t have their money. He then took the idea to his father, Eugene and from there the two continued to work to what now we know as, Schitt’s Creek.
Season 6 first aired on Comedy Central on January 7, 2020, and its finale on April 7, 2020. It was expected to drop on Netflix later in October.

However, as a surprise for fans, Schitt’s Creek dropped on Netflix sooner than expected. The sixth season also includes a behind the scenes footage as a documentary special titled Best Wishes, Warmest Regards. The documentary special sees the production process of the show and a roundtable discussion with the cast members.
The bittersweet early arrival is the last of Rose’s we’ll see as it marks the last season of Schitt’s Creek. There have been talks of a film but you can bet your dollars to doughnuts, unfortunately for some, there won’t be a Season 7 of Schitt’s Creek.
Cast:
Creators Eugene and Dan Levy both also act in the series as father and son duo Johnny, patriarch and CEO of Rose Video, a video rental chain; and David Rose, a former gallerist, brand manager and current owner of the Rose Apothecary business.
Catherine O’Hara portrays the ever so eccentric former soap opera star and wife of Johnny, Moira Rose.
Playing the former reality star and socialite and current owner of Alexis Rose Communications, daughter of Johnny and Moira and David’s younger sister, Alexis Rose is Annie Murphy.
Other cast members of the show are Emily Hampshire, Jenn Robertson, Chris Elliott, Tim Rozon, Dustin Milligan, Sarah Levy, John Hemphill, Karen Robinson and Noah Reid.
Plot:
The web series follows a reverse rag to riches about the Rose family who goes broke and is forced to leave their uber-wealthy lifestyle behind and move to a small town where they form long-lasting relationships as they come to terms with the meaning of life.
