British comedy drama series created by Laurie Nunn, Sex Education is a Netflix original series which got released in January 11th 2019. As soon the series was released it gained a lot of popularity among the fans.
The show saw a massive 40 million viewers streaming the series in its debut. Its young and charming love story was appreciated by the viewers and was critical as well as a commercial success. The season two of the series was also released earlier this year on January 17th, 2020.
The good news is that the show is renewed for its season 3. We hear that the shooting for the season 3 was supposed to start early but due to the pandemic of Covid 19, the production was stopped. We also got to know that the production may resume in the month of August this year.
The series depicts the story of a teenager Otis Milburn who is insecure not so popular in school and is hesitant to talk about sex. Soon his school comes to know about the fact that his mother is a Sex therapist and frankly speaks about all the aspects of sex. Soon Otis finds fellow students coming up to him seeking sexual advice. Otis then sets up a sex advice business with Maeve who is a confident but troubled classmate.
In Season 2 Otis finally gets into a relationship with Ola. His relationship with her is a hit in the school and he then starts facing a lot of pressure of the high school drama.
Cast of the series includes Asa Butterfield as Otis, Gillian Anderson as Dr. Jean F Milburn playing as Otis’s mother. She is divorced and is regular towards one night stands in the series. Ncuti Gatwa plays as Eric Effiong, best gay friend to Otis. Other cast includes Patricia Allison as Ola Nyman, Connor Swindells as Adam Groff and Emma Mackey as Maeve Wiley.
With the shooting to get started likely in the month of August, it is likely that the series may not be released on its usual which is in the month of January of 2021. We expect the series might be delayed by couple of months. The makers have not confirmed any official date of release yet.
