Shanghai International Film Festival is going to begin from 25th July to 2nd August 2020. Only one week is left for this major cinema event to take place in China. The Shanghai International Film Festival was scheduled to kick-off on June 8, but it got delayed due to coronavirus outbreak. Almost all the businesses, production houses, and cinema halls were shut. Shanghai is one of the least affected parts of China. Till now, only seven deaths are recorded out of 733 cases. Unfortunately, the Shanghai International Film Festival will only be a Chinese affair without any foreign guests. No international jury will be present during the event due to the coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, this year, it also won’t have any main competitions.

The 23rd film festival is most likely to screen films only for the public and Chinese industry. Foreigners traveling from all over the globe won’t be allowed to be a part of this grand event. Chinese immigration authorities will also strictly maintain a strict quarantine for Chinese citizens, who will be returning from other parts of the world.

The organizers also revealed that no foreign guests would be welcomed to the festival. However, staff who are a part of international film companies located in China will be invited to the event.
