Sienna Miller and Chadwick Boseman worked together on 21 Bridges. The British-American actress recently revealed in an interview with Empire that he donated a portion of his salary from the film so she could be paid what she had asked for.

Miller stated that Boseman approached her to work on the film and while she was rather exhausted from making films at the time, she agreed because she wanted the chance to work with him.

The studio would not agree to the amount she was asking for, even though it was a fairly big-budget film. Miller was reluctant to settle for a lower price since her daughter was starting school and it was “an inconvenient time.”

Miller stated, “I said ‘I’ll do it if I am compensated in the right way.’ And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for. He said that that was what I deserve to be paid.”

She recounted the story as a testament to the man he truly was although she had been previously uncertain about revealing it. She remarked on his graciousness and the way that it was not something for him to show off about or talk about.

When other men in the industry get told the story, they apparently “go very very quiet”. Boseman was very matter-of-fact and respectful about the whole affair and he did it because he genuinely believed it was what her time was worth.

Chadwick Boseman passed away on 28 August after having battled colon cancer for four years. He died at home, surrounded by his family as well as his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward. As a story like this shows, the “Black Panther” star deserved all the love fans had for him and the heartfelt way he is mourned. Disneyland revealed a mural in his remembrance last week.
