After four seasons on The Resident, Marvel’s Emily VanCamp is leaving. After playing Nic Nevin on the medical drama in 2018, she will not be returning for season 5. In addition, the actress, who played Sharon Carter in the Captain America movie and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will not be returning for season 4.

It’s been verified by TVLine that the actress is leaving the programme, but it hasn’t been stated why she’s going just yet. After meeting her husband on Revenge, VanCamp gave birth to her first child with Josh Bowman. Before announcing their pregnancy, the couple kept the news a secret before announcing the child’s birth last week.

Welcoming our darling little Iris into the world. Our hearts are full.” A black-and-white photo of the child’s hand wrapped around her finger, two pictures of her while pregnant, and a photograph of her husband Bowman caressing her baby bulge, were also included in her post.

Also, in promoting The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, VanCamp addressed the controversial kiss between Sharon and Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War in 2016.

In an interview with Collider, she said, “You sort of trust and hope that it all makes sense in the end. But, in a few moments, I wondered if we were going too far. “Should we try to make this a more amicable, friendly event?” In all honesty, I wasn’t sure.  None of us knew for sure.

“In terms of story, I don’t think anyone is to blame. Who knows where that’s heading or what we’ll do with that moment? But, on the other hand, the moment itself was a sweet one.”

There will be a new episode of The Resident airing on Fox in the U.S. and Disney+ in the U.K. on September 21. It is one of the sweetest news, and we are so happy for the couple and wish that their child gets all the love and happiness in the world.
