After having a very decent response from its 1 season let’s find out whether it would have a season 2.
Sunnyside is American television series which was released its season on26 September 2019.Sunnyside series was created by Kal Penn and Matt Murray and produced by Panther Co. in association with Universal Television.
The series is based on a comedy plot and comprises numerous humor events. Sunnyside was released on NBC. Sunnyside first season comprises of 11 episodes. The first season got a very low response from the audience as it attained 5 IMBD ratings out of 10.
The story of the first season mainly highlights the character of Garrett Modi who was an Ex -New York Councilman who was later accompanied by a group of persons. The decent response from the viewers forced the makers to not make the 2 seasons.
NBC has not renewed the next season and has called off further parts.

The characters which acted in the first season Kal Penn as Garrett Modi, Dianna Maria Riva as Griselda, Poppy Liu as Mei Lin, Joel Kim Booster as Jun Ho, Moses Storm as Bojan, Samba Schutte as Hakim, Kiran Deol as Mallory Modi.
The character’s performance was not up to the mark as expected by the audience which overall lead to the fall of viewership.
WHAT WAS THE STORY ALL ABOUT?
The story was about Garrett Modi who was the youngest Queens Councilman which was ever elected in history. Garreth was a rising star in New York Politics.
However, instead of helping the people who helped him in winning, he lost his way and also his powers and political duties. He was arrested for public intoxication and his foolishness.
The whole incident was recorded in a video that further ended his career. While facing all the hardships and failures he then decided to stay with his sister Mallory who was a doctor by profession. He thought of all the things that went wrong for him in Mallory’s house.
Later he was hired by a group of idealists he then decided to earn his paycheck from there. Garrett further thought of helping the group of idealists in achieving their dream of American citizenship which will give him a chance of redemption from where he had come from.
WHAT COULD BE THE POSSIBLE REASON FOR CANCELLATION OF 2 SEASON?
NBC at the end of 2019 has confirmed that season 2 of Sunnyside would not be releasing and has been called off.
The makers have also confirmed the news but didn’t have told the exact reason for Cancellation. We might assume the fact the series was not enjoyed by the audience as expected despite having so many characters.
The series was not up to the mark which doesn’t force either the maker or the NBC to renew its next season
