Sofia Hasmik, Smallville’s top reporter/plumber, has been elevated to series regular for The CW’s Superman & Lois’ forthcoming second season, according to our sister site Deadline.
Superman & Lois star in Regular Season 2
Chrissy Beppo, once the lone worker at the Smallville Gazette before Lois’ arrival, was played by Hasmik throughout the first season of the program. Chrissy was introduced as Lois’ biggest admirer, which she still is, but she has subsequently proven to be an incredibly brave reporter in her own right.
Superman & Lois was renewed for a second season on March 2, less than a month after its launch, and was named one of TVLine’s top TV programs of 2021 (so far). On Tuesday, July 13 (9/8c), the program returns for its last season of episodes. The second season is set to air in early 2022.
The Man of Steel or Clark Kent, played by Tyler Hoechlin, and comic books’ most renowned journalist, Lois Lane, played by Elizabeth Tulloch, star in Superman & Lois, which follows them as they deal with the stress, demands, and complications that come with being working parents in today’s society.
Hasmik joins the cast of the current series. Tyler Hoechlin portrays Clark Kent/Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch portrays Lois Lane, Jordan Elsass portrays Jonathan Kent, Alex Garfin portrays Jordan Kent, Erik Valdez portrays Kyle Cushing, Inde Navarrette portrays Sarah Cushing, Wolé Parks portrays John Henry Irons, Adam Rayner portrays Tal-Rho, Dylan Walsh portrays Sam Lane, and Emmanuelle Chriqui portrays Lana Lang-Cushing.
Hasmik recently starred in the Netflix film All The Bright Places alongside Elle Fanning and Justice Smith and recurred on the 2019 remake of Mad About You. Global Artists Agency and Think Tank Management represent her.
