Even before MCU, Batman was the most popular superhero property on the big screen, and despite the fact that Warner Bros. has had to start and halt production a few times since Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy concluded, fan interest for the caped crusader from Gotham is always strong. That is definitely true of his most recent adaptation, The Batman.

Matt Reeves scripted (together with Peter Craig) and directed The Batman, a very different take on the character from Ben Affleck’s Batman seen in Batman v Superman and The Justice League. There have been some rumblings about how Reeve’s version of Batman may connect with Warner Bros.’ ongoing efforts to build a DC Universe to challenge Marvel.

When will the movie release?

The Batman, like nearly every other film released in the previous 19 months, has had to reschedule its release date many times due to pandemic-related difficulties, including having to halt production after Robert Pattison tested positive for COVID-19. The Batman was originally scheduled to be released in October 2021, but has now been pushed back to March 4, 2022.

In anyone, you are asking, despite the fact that The Batman is a Warner Bros. film, and the studio made headlines by simultaneously releasing all of its 2021 films in theatres and on HBO Max, The Batman will not receive the same treatment. Warner Bros. has vowed to return to exclusive theatrical windowing for their films beginning in 2022.

Who will be casting?

Batman has been played by Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck, among others. Robert Pattinson will be the next actor to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Matt Reeves-directed picture.

Pattison is most recognized for his breakthrough role in the Twilight Saga. However, despite becoming a teen idol, the actor has made some pretty unusual choices, appearing in films such as The Rover, Maps to the Stars, The Lost City of Z, Good Time, High Life, and The Lighthouse. He had a big-budget comeback in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, and he’s now back in the starring position in a possible franchise with The Batman.

Of all, a Batman film would be completed without Bruce Wayne’s dependable butler/adviser. In The Batman, Andy Serkis will play Alfred. Serkis and Reeves will reunite after previously collaborating on the Planet of the Apes film. Serkis will not be using motion capture to play Alfred.

J.K. Simmons and Gary Oldman previously played Gotham City commissioner James Gordon, which will be performed by Jeffrey Wright. Peter Sarsgaard will play District Attorney Gil Colson, another prospective friend for Batman in the film.

He may need all the aid he can get, as The Batman will include a number of well-known Batman foes. Among them are Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and John Tuturro as Carmine Falcone. Right now, it’s unclear how each of them fits into the mother. For example, Farrell has stated that his screen time in The Batman is restricted, but a Penguin spinoff series is apparently in production for HBO Max.

What’s the plotline?

On that topic, we don’t know how engaged any of the named villains in The Batman are because we know so little about the narrative. The official page for the film on the Warner Bros. website provides no narrative details, while the Batman IMDb page merely states, “the storyline is unknown.”

Right now, the only information we have on the film comes from the first trailer, which was published a year ago. We see The Riddler leave numerous messages for Batman in it, making him the early pick for major villain, but we also see a battle sequence between Batman and Catwoman. However, additional information about The Batman might be forthcoming very soon.
