Welcome back folks! We are here with the update on the fairly recent but incredibly well-received reality television series. Unlike any other reality show, ‘The Circle’, hosted by Michelle Buteau brings to us a twist: the players are isolated in separate apartments in the same building.
That’s right! They never get to physically meet each other. The only way for them to talk to each other except through the voice-activated platform ‘The Circle’, where they can choose how their profiles appear to others and also rate each other. Let’s get more into the Netflix series that debuted on January 1, 2020.
Release?
With the incredible response season one received from the viewers, and much to our delight, Netflix announced a second and a third season on March 24, after the first season finale aired on January 15.
According to some sources, the second season which was supposedly going to be filmed later this year and aired early in 2021, came to a halt due to the ongoing pandemic and production issues but doesn’t seem far from possible.
Given that the players are already isolated, we expect that it will commence soon, sometime around late October, early November according to rumors. Even though there is not yet a trailer for season 2 but we can expect one early next year and only wait for them to begin shooting.
Cast: Who will be in it?
As for the cast, the players are the regular people and anyone can participate, 21 and above, and casting goes through two screenings. And so we can come no closer to any presumption about who the players are going to be.
However, according to ‘Variety’, the shows executive producer said, “We wanted people from lots of different backgrounds. Other reality shows, whether it’s ‘Real Housewives’ or ‘Jersey Shore,’ they’re all one gang of quite similar characters. What ‘The Circle’ gave us the opportunityto do was cast a very diverse net across the United States”. Given the participants are required to travel to the UK for the filming we can guess that the shooting will take place there.

Plot: What will it be about?
We can only assume that similar to the first season, the second season will see players secluded in their apartments with ‘The Circle’ app being their only way to communicate with each other with pretend identities to win over votes.
Even if we do not know much about the cast we sure are promised yet another season of intense drama and much more catfish. In addition to that, we hope to see much more amazing friendships and bromances that we saw in season one with Shooby and Joey.
