Plot:
The new chapters begin in the late 1970s with Queen Elizabeth and her family concerned with safeguarding the line of succession, finding a suitable match for Prince Charles, who remains single at 30. During this time, the impact of the divisive policy introduced by Britain’s Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is beginning to be felt.
Additionally, tensions will arise between him and the queen that will only worsen as he leads the country in the Falklands War, sparking conflicts within the Commonwealth. Within all of this maelstrom, Prince Charles’s relationship with the young Lady Diana Spencer is a fairy tale story that the British still need, but behind the palace gates, the British royal family is increasingly divided.
Cast:
This will be the last batch in which we will see some of the interpreters. Olivia Colman will be replaced by Imelda Staunton in the fifth and sixth seasons; Jonathan Pryce will take over from Tobias Menzies; Lesley Manville will fill in for Helena Bonham Carter, and Elizabeth Debicki will play Lady Di after Emma Corrin.
The show has a rating of 8.7/10 on IMDb.
