One more episode of Hulu’s gripping drama Nine Perfect Strangers is left, and the stakes have never increased. The supposed healing vacation that the protagonists were all looking forward to turned out to be much more than that. Many people have fallen in love, but there has also been much fighting and drug use.
Amidst all of this, the characters have experienced huge life changes, such as Frances trying to come to terms with her catfished and her novel being rejected, or social media influencer Jessica understanding she doesn’t need external validation to love herself.
Nine Perfect Strangers is a new Netflix series that follows nine guests at Tranquilum, a healing retreat. So naturally, everybody comes with a lot of baggage and reservations. Still, the enigmatic Masha (played by a frightening Nicole Kidman) manages to expose everyone’s past traumatic experiences to light in the end.
According to her employees, Masha has chosen a group that is even more volatile than the previous one, and something is bound to go wrong at some point. Masha is also confronted with her dark background when a mysterious stalker begins leaving her death threats, claiming she will die by the end of the week.
With each new episode, we learn more about the individuals and their pasts, and we begin to wonder what will become of this odd refuge. The show is based on a Liane Moriarty novel (also of Big Little Lies fame). It seems unlikely that the programme will be renewed for a second season unless it deviates significantly from the book’s plot. Still, even with Meryl Streep joining the cast, the results were disappointing.’
A life-altering 10-day getaway for everyone, including the crew, is central to the show’s storyline. There may not be a Tranquilum left by the end of the show. This is most likely the last episode of this run. While you’re waiting for the conclusion, brush up on the show’s previous episodes to refresh your memory of the show’s impressive ensemble.
