An American fantasy comedy, The Good Place is a tele series created by Michael Schur. The series was telecasted from September 19, 2016, till January 30, 2020, on NBC. The series has seen a total of 53 episodes in 4 seasons.
The story is set on the afterlife which some people have faith in and some people consider it a myth. The series deals with the concept of the soul reaching to the “Heaven” or “Hell” based on the deeds a person conducts during their lifetime.
The show narrates the story of Eleanor, a saleswoman who lived a pretty unethical and corrupt life until the moment she died. She then finds herself in an after-life that unexpectedly resembles heaven. This is due to a case of mistaken identity.
According to the makers of the show, the final season of the show is was the fourth season. In December 2018, NBC renewed the fourth season which as per them was the final season of the show. It was premiered on September 26, 2019, and the final episode concluded on Jan 30, 2020.
Season 4 had 14 episodes and the show ended beautifully. As an act of appreciation, the makers of the show added 90 minutes to the show. This was a huge surprise for the fans. With the kind of popularity, the show has received, fans certainly would be expecting another season to be renewed. Netflix the streaming partner has already bid goodbye to the entertaining cast of A Good Place.
Now if at all there is a season 5, fans can expect the previous cast of the show to reappear on the show. There is no official announcement made regarding season 5. If the series is continued then fans might have to wait long and we may be lucky to hear something by the end of 2021.
But going by what we know so far, the show has ended. Fans have to come in terms with the fact that the show is no longer, it is saddening we know, but then all good things come with an expiry date.
