On the 1st June of 2021, The Masked Dancer UK viewers came to know yet another face on ITV as the celebrity’s face unveiled everybody was left speechless. This was time for the fourth elimination as three stars have already been identified before namely: the first to leave the show was Jordan Banjo who is a radio presenter and a diversity dancer unveiled as the star behind the Viper costume, followed by a singer as well as a known media personality Louise Redknapp under the mask of a Flamingo and thirdly, American dancer and also model, Dita Von Teese was unmasked as the star in Beetroot costume.
Michael ‘Eddie the Eagle’ Edwards who is an Olympic Ski-Jumper was voted out by the judging panel consisting of Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse, Mo Gilligan and Davina McCall. Michael Edwards was revealed under his Rubber Chicken costume. The Frog and Rubber Chicken were in a dance face-off and the judges decided to save the Frog instead of Chicken.
Speaking of Michael ‘Eddie the Eagle’ Edwards, he was the first person back in 1988 who represented Great Britain in the respective sport since then. In 2016, a movie named ‘Eddie the Eagle’ was inspired by his life and Taron Egerton was the actor who played him. Eddie is 57-years of age.
While having a conversation with the judges and the show representative, also a comedian Joel Dommett, Eddie told them: “I’ve been dancing for 20 years on and off – mainly partner dancing, just modern Jive. I’m quite a one-trick pony.” Further when he was questioned upon his experience as a Rubber Chicken, he replied, “It’s been the most amazing time, I’ve loved it dressing up. Nobody knew who I was and I could just play and have so much fun.”
The Masked Dancer is an American Television series which is a spin-off to The Masked Singer which originated in South Korea. The Masked Singer USA first debuted in January 2019 and instantly became a hit among the viewers. Later on, a new segmented show The Masked Dancer USA was introduced by Ellen DeGeneres on her famous talk show.
