In Season 5, there happened a sudden twist which almost made every jaw drop. This happened in this week’s episode itself, where “The Masked Singer” featured its much-anticipated first “Wildcard” round.
This was the time when the surprise contestant Orca came in and almost stole the complete show.
The celeb did not arrive in the early phase of the episode but joined in the fun at the last moment. He then took away the slot of Raccoon, Group A competitor. Later we saw in the episode Raccoon got eliminated from the competition and was also unmasked at the end.
Talking about the last week’s introduction the consistent in both Group A and B where-
Group B- Chameleon, Grandpa Monster, Black Swan and Piglet, also Caitlyn Jenner who came after Phoenix was cut from the lineup.
Group A- the most consistent one Russian Doll, Seashell, Raccoon and Robopine. Yes, Robopine took the stage again.
All these members prepared well after we saw their second performances in front of the show’s judges. The list of these remarkable judges includes- Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy, and Robin Thicke. What’s surprising was to see guest host Niecy Nash and Joel McHale as a replacement for Nick Cannon. Nick was reported to need more time for getting recovered from COVID.
After they completed their second performance the most awaited “Wildcard” round began. It started with the grand entry of Orca as a wildcard member, turning the entire stage on fire by singing Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”
Orca made the moment mesmerising, but after everything was done it was the time for judges to announce Wednesday’s top contestant. The top contestant is selected after the at-home audience cast their votes and make the best one win the title.
The one who came last with the least number of votes was undoubtedly Raccoon who sang the very famous song by Jonny Cash “Rung of Fire.”
