Doctor Who screenwriter Pete McTighe’s latest offering, The Pact, could fulfil your cravings for a meaty new British crime drama

The female-led crime thriller follows four women who work at a brewery together. After their young boss is discovered dead, they form a silence pact.

Little Door Productions, a Cardiff-based independent production company established in 2019, has received its first commission for the series.

Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, Wales’ Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, praised the commission, saying it would “further boost Wales’ reputation as a top class destination for high end TV drama output.”

When will The Pact premiere?

The first episode of the series will air on BBC One at 9 p.m. on Monday, May 17th, and the second episode will air on Tuesday, May 18th at 9 p.m. For the rest of the season, episodes will air on BBC One on Mondays and Tuesdays. The entire series will be available on BBC iPlayer on May 17th, so you can watch it all at once if you like.

About – The Pact

Anna, Nancy, Louie, and Cat are four coworkers in the drama. When their boss Jack (Aneurin Barnard) is found dead, they are bound together by a dark secret that changes their lives forever.

As he investigates the shocking murder, Anna’s police officer husband Max (Jason Hughes) is utterly unaware that his wife is connected to the crime. Tish (Abbie Hern), one of the women’s coworkers, starts to doubt her coworkers.

The drama is being referred to as a “”It builds on our strong portfolio of impactful drama, and, like Hinterland, Keeping Faith, and Hidden before it, puts together the best in the industry to do their best work,” said BBC Cymru Wales Head of Commissioning Nick Andrews. It’s a fantastic storey, and the talented cast and crew ensure that this will be a highly awaited series.”

Cast – The Pact 

Laura Fraser (Anna), Julie Hesmondhalgh (Nancy), Eddie Marsan (Jack’s estranged father Arwel), and Rakie Ayola (Jack’s estranged father Arwel) are among the cast members (DS Holland).

The Pact also features a number of talented Welsh actors, including Abbie Hern from The Twilight Zone, Jason Hughes from Midsomer Murders, and Eiry Thomas from Keeping Faith.
