Last September a mix between ‘Election’ and ‘Glee’ arrived on Netflix with the unmistakable stamp of Ryan Murphy. Titled ‘The Politician’ marked the debut of the creator of ‘ American Horror Story ‘ and ‘ American Crime Story ‘ in the streaming giant.

With a cast led by Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, and Ben Platt, we follow in the footsteps of the political rise to a wealthy California student who dreams of becoming President of the United States.

The satire and humor that characterize the creator – as we have just seen again in the newcomer ‘ Hollywood’- They turned this political debut into a surprise that captivated the fandom, who has been waiting for almost half a year for the arrival of the premiere date of the second season. Well, calm down, because we already have it. And also the first images of ‘The Politician 2’.

When do the electoral campaigns return? Well, very soon. As TVLine anticipates, Netflix will premiere the second installment of this series on June 19, that is, within a month. Apparently we’ll have a temporary leap, with former high school student Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) now attending college in New York City, where he will seek to seize a position in the Senate facing Dede Standish (Judith Light).

“Dede’s re-election was supposed to be easy” the official description of this new season begins “but Payton, who sees this as the next step on his way to the Presidency, must decide what kind of politician he ultimately wants to be to have success, even if it means exposing secrets or lies. Bette Midler will be Dede’s chief of staff.

Gwyneth Paltrow will reprise her role as Payton’s mother Georgina, and also returning in their roles are Zoey Deutch (Infinity), Lucy Boynton (Astrid), Julia Schlaepfer (Alice), Laura Dreyfuss (McAfee), Theo Germaine (James) and Rahne Jones (Skye). In the following images – with a new poster included – you can see them all as they warm up their engines for a new (dirty?) Political war:
