Another riveting vengeance storey comes from the filmmaker of ‘Casino Royale’ and the company that brought us ‘John Wick.’ Martin Campbell directs the forthcoming action film ‘The Protégé.’ It recounts the narrative of a highly competent female assassin on the hunt for her adoptive father’s killers.
Maggie Q, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Keaton star in the action picture, which has an A-list ensemble. Lionsgate’s ‘The Protégé’ will be released in theatres on August 20, 2021. The film has been under development since 2017 under the title ‘Ana.’ ‘The Asset,’ the film’s title, ultimately went into production in January 2020. Bucharest, London, and Da Nang were all used for filming.

Anna Dutton, played by Maggie Q, is an assassin seeking vengeance for the death of her adoptive father. Maggie Q is most known for her roles in action films such as ‘Naked Weapon,’ ‘Mission: Impossible III,’ and ‘Live Free or Die Hard.’ Maggie also starred in the action-thriller series ‘Nikita’ on The CW.
Moody Dutton, Anna’s adoptive father, is played by Samuel L. Jackson. He found Anna in the midst of a slaughter in Saigon and nurtured her. Jackson has also acted in a number of action flicks. ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ and ‘Spiral’ are two of his most recent films.
Rembrandt, played by Michael Keaton, is a mystery figure that Anna will encounter while on the hunt for her father’s murders. He is most remembered for his role as the caped superhero Batman in the 1989 film “Batman.” He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his main performance in the 2014 picture ‘Birdman.’ Robert Patrick is also scheduled to have a supporting part in the film.
The Protege – Plotline
Anna is played by Maggie Q, and she is a talented assassin who was raised and taught by Moody (Samuel L. Jackson), who is also a great assassin. Anna resolves to avenge Moody after arriving home and learning of his death. Anna discovers a link between Moody’s murder and a successful assassination operation he carried out years ago during her research.
Anna travels to Vietnam in search of the assassins who killed her father. Her hunt for answers brought her to Rembrandt, a strange figure (Michael Keaton). He cautions Anna of the risks she’ll face if she continues her hunt. Anna ignores his warnings and continues her search for the individuals responsible for her father’s death, developing a complicated connection with Rembrandt in the process.
