Every major U.S. network has a medical drama in their primetime schedule, and The Resident, which will enter its fifth season in 2021, checks that box for Fox.
The Resident was developed by the team of Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi and aired in the winter of 2018 on Fox. When will The Resident Season 5 release?
The next season of The Resident will begin airing at 8 p.m. on Fox on September 21. Following the conclusion of The Resident, viewers can look forward to the premiere of Fox’s new drama Our Kind of People. CBS’ crime drama FBI will be its main competition on broadcast television. Hulu and the Fox website both provide new episodes of The Resident the day after they premiere on television.

After four seasons apart, “The Resident’s” main cast will be back for season 5. Matt Czuchry plays Conrad Hawkins, Bruce Greenwood plays Dr. Randolph Bell, Manish Dayal plays Devon Pravesh, Emily VanCamp plays Nicolette Nevin, Malcolm-Jamal Warner plays Dr. AJ Austin, Jane Leeves plays Dr. Kit Voss, Morris Chestnut plays Dr. Barrett Cain, Jessica Lucas plays Billie Sutton, and Anuja Joshi plays Dr. Leela Devi. However, after leaving in season 4, Shaunette Renée Wilson’s Mina Okafor will not return. Also, due to his upcoming role in Fox’s “Our Kind of People,” Chestnut will appear less regularly on TV.
What to expect from the plotline for The Resident Season 5?
Doctor Conrad Hawkins, the show’s titular resident, is one of several doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital who is the subject of the show’s narrative. The plot revolves around the group’s work and medical problems, as well as their personal issues. Season four has a lot of hard work ahead of it.
