The Salisbury Poisoning is a thriller series based on real-life events which premiered on BBC on 14th June 2020 and ended on 16 June 2020.
The Real events behind the show:
What makes the show even more of a thrilling experience is that it’s purely based on facts. Sergei Skripal, a Russian double agent who worked with the British was arrested and later he was deported to Salisbury, UK. When his daughter, a Russian citizen, came to visit, both of them were poisoned. A similar event occurred to some British Nationals in 2018 who also resided close to Salisbury.
This incident is considered one of the most disturbing political incidents of the 21st century. The nerve agent used (Novichok) is of the highest lethality and has the power to kill 20,000 people with just half a teaspoon.
Salisbury Poisoning Characters In Roles
The show was a three-part series starring Anne-Marie Duff, Rafe Spall and Annabel Scholey.
The show ends with a fast forward to the later part of the year when the city has started to forget the poisonings when two people find the perfume bottle filled with the same poison that affected the Skripals and falls ill themselves.
AMC’s Announcement:
