Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, is a fan favorite in the Walking Dead. Many fans were speculating that Rick may be returning to the franchise as his name was also mentioned in the IMDb website under the category of “casts”. But an AMC representative confirmed that he will not be returning and there was a mistake with the website.
The IMDb website is easily editable so it is thought that some over-enthusiastic fan added his name to the website to stir up some excitement. And his plan definitely worked!
This was not the only source of confusion for the fans. In a question and answer session when Nico Tortorella, who plays Felix on World Beyond, was asked who he enjoyed acting with the most, he replied “Andrew Lincoln” with a winking face.
Fans have been combing World Beyond for references to Rick. Showrunner Matt Negrete basically promised them. “You will get answers as to potentially where Rick was taken,” he told Digital Spy. “I think that we’ll also get answers in terms of why he was taken there.” This is probably the biggest hint yet, but it doesn’t mean that Rick will actually appear on the show, at least not this season.
