Lonnie Chavis 12 years old who was seen performing the young version of Randell Pearson by Sterling K. Brown. He was filming his part in This is the US from the last four years. He got a big breakthrough by getting a chance to play in a big-screen adventure movie “The Water Man”.
According to the reports, the film’s executive producer is Oprah Winfrey and Feature director David Oyelowo.
The story is based on a boy who wants to help his ill mother. Due to which he went on a mission to find the mythical waterman who has a secret of carrying an everlasting life.
It could save his dying mother. Chavis will be performing as the child Gunner who went on the mission. Rosario Dawson as his ill mother and Oyelowo as his father.
Lonnie Chavis gave an interview regarding taking part in the movie:
He commented that he was very happy being part of the movie. Being a professional and as well as a kid Lonnie is enjoying his part in between everyone. He praised their director who is taking part as a factor in the movie as well as at the same time directing each and everything.
He enjoyed playing the role of a son with Rosario. She is very kind to him and helped him to play his part in the scene. According to the 12 years old actor, he had so much fun with Rosario around the set that he never stopped laughing when he is around Rosario.
His favorite part of the movie when he was chased by real horses. He was nervous so much of having real horses behind him. He was filled with gratitude that the director took so much care that the scene went very smoothly.
He was asked about going back to his series This is us. He said that he was desperate to meet his friend in This is the US and became very bored with the current situation. Covid-19 has slowed down everything even the release of his new movie will be delayed. He is hoping that everything will get settled soon.
He wants everyone to watch this movie which featured a black family. It is all about peace and family.
