THE WITCHER ANIME FILM SETS RELEASE DATE AHEAD OF SEASON 2

Witcher is not over yet as it is announced that more content of The Witcher is coming this year. Fans have been waiting for the second season of the series The Witcher and the news is out about its revival in December. But ahead of the highly anticipated second season, a new anime film is set to premiere on the streaming service Netflix on August 23, 2021. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf has been given an official release date by Netflix. The anime film was ordered in January, 2020 and the project hails from The Witcher series producers Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and Beau DeMayo, along with the Korean animation studio Studio Mir who previously worked on The Legend of Korra and Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender.

“The anime film tells the story of Vesemir, a swashbuckling young witcher who escaped a life of poverty to slay monsters for coin,” Netflix described the movie.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’s news was shared on July 9th,2021 (Friday) during WitcherCon, where a new teaser trailer for the anime film – which focuses on Geralt of Rivia’s mentor, Vesemir – was also released

The logline for the anime film is: “Before Geralt, there was Vesemir — a cocky young witcher who delights in slaying monsters for coins. When a dangerous new power rises on the Continent, Vesemir learns that some witchering jobs are about more than just money…”

Apart from the Witcher anime movie announcement, the official release date for The Witcher’s second season was also confirmed for December 17 during the WitcherCon event. The official synopsis from Netflix for The Witcher season two reads: “Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.

“While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

That’s some pretty great news for the fans of The Witcher who have been waiting since Season 1 which launched in December 2019 to find out when Season 2 would be arriving. The Witcher Season 2 include Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Born as Vereena, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Basil Eidenbenz as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Mecia Simson as Francesca, Kim Bodnia as Vesemir, Adjoa Andoh as Nenneke, Cassie Clare as Phillippa Eilhart, Liz Carr as Fenn, Graham McTavish as Dijkstra, Kevin Doyle as Ba’lian, Simon Callow as Codringher and Chris Fulton as Rience — these are the new additions for Season-2.

Returning cast members for Season 2 of “The Witcher” include Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Allan, Joey Batey, MyAnna Buring, Tom Canton, Lilly Cooper, Jeremy Crawford, Eamon Farren, Mahesh Jadu, Terence Maynard, Lars Mikkelsen, Mimî M Khayisa, Royce Pierreson, Wilson Mbomio, Anna Shaffer and Therica Wilson-Read.
