This show inspired by one of the most famous RPG games and based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski was an instant hit on Netflix. The show has been renewed for a second season even before the 1st season aired so when is the 2nd season coming? Let’s find out!
The show is set in medieval times and takes places on a landmass called the continent it tells the story of Geralt of Rivia and princess Ciri, who are linked with each other by destiny. The show has an interesting plot and has 3 alternate timelines that later merge forming a single timeline. The 1st for the show was released on December 20, 2019, and all 8 episodes were released on the same day.

Expected Release Date
The show doesn’t have a fixed date as of yet but the shooting initially began early 2020 but was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Good news for the fans is that the show will resume shooting on 17 August the announcement was made through a poem from the official twitter handle of The Witcher. We can hope to see the 2nd season sometime in 2021. We let you know a fixed date of release as soon as we know about it.
Who Will Be In The Cast?
The cast for the 2nd season will not only feature old cast members but will have some new ones. Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia/Witcher will be back in action in the 2nd season along with Freya Allan as Cirilla “Ciri” and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg. Apart from these, we also have lots of new cast members in 2nd season such as Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Kim Bodnia as Witcher trainer, Vesemir, and Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia to name a few.
Previous Season’s Ending Explained And Future Plot
In the 1st season, we saw the story arc of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri in their early years and how their paths crossed for the first time. In the finale, we also saw Witcher from 3 different timelines merge to form a singular timeline and the show will move forwards with that timeline in the 2nd season. We will see Witcher move closer to the main storyline in the novels rather than side adventures in 2nd season.
