There will be a new season of MTV’s iconic reality show “The Challenge” with a whole new theme and a few new faces. The next season of the competition series subtitled “Spies, Lies, and Allies” will premiere on Wednesday, August 11, and will involve 17 international players with Americans for the first time. In the latest season, which was filmed in Croatia, there are 34 contestants worldwide. “Agents,” the best players in the United States, will team up with “Operatives,” the best players from across the world, this season.
As the season progresses, the candidates will be tested both mentally and physically as they try to win their portion of the $1 million cash prize. Twenty-nine newcomers have appeared on past reality shows, including “Survivor,” “Love Island U.S.,” and “Too Hot To Handle.” Amanda Garcia, who hasn’t competed since “War of the Worlds,” and Chris “CT” Tamburello are two notable “Challenge” veterans. Take a look at the entire list of competitors.
MTV released a trailer for the next season in mid-July, along with the cast roster. While some of the contestants have been around for a long time — such as 15-time contestant Aneesa Ferriera — others have only competed in a couple of seasons.
Tori Deal (sixth Challenge), Nany Gonzalez (11), Aneesa Ferreira (15th Challenge), Ashley Mitchell (9th Challenge), Kaycee Clark (3rd), Amanda Garcia (6th), Big T (4th), Nelson Thomas (8th) Cory Wharton (9th) Josh Martinez (5th) Kyle Christie (7th) and Fess Shafaat (3rd) CT Tamburello (19th Challenge), Devin Walker (6th Challenge), and Nam Vo (2nd Challenge) are among the 15 veterans returning for Season 37.
The reintroduction of “MTV’s Official Challenge Podcast,” presented by Deal and Ferreira, coincides with Season 37.
American contestants who have competed on CBS’s popular reality competition series “Survivor” or the recently imported “Love Island U.S.” are among those who have joined the “Challenge”. More come from other parts of the world, such as Spain, Turkey and Nigeria, and Romania. In addition to “Survivor” and “Dancing With the Stars,” many of them have competed on “Love Island” as well as “Big Brother.”
Michele Fitzgerald, Tacha Akide and Emy Alupei are among the newbies. Tracy Candela, Bettina Buchanan, Esther Agunbiade and Lauren Coogan are also among the newcomers, as are Gabo Szabo and Hughie Maughan, Emmanuel Neagu and Logan Sampedro. Renan Hellemans is also among the newcomers. Wednesday, August 11, is the launch date for MTV’s “The Challenge: Spies, Lies and Allies.”
